BABA - THE PHYSICIAN by Dr. B. SlTHARAMIAH Late Dr. B. Sitharamiah was a very senior doctor who served in the General Hospital, Puttaparthi for many years. As medical practitioners, we are surprised at the inexplicable series of cures that patients gain in the Sathya Sai Hospital, Whitefield, especially when it is remembered that some arrive at the Hospital after being rejected as incurable by all the major institutions in this country and abroad. Bhagavan's Love is showered on all those who suffer and who are handicapped in the race of life; He grants the gift of health, so that it may be used for really beneficial purposes. If examples are needed to illustrate the unbounded Love of Bhagavan, I can quote the instance of a coffee estate owner from the Malnad, Mysore State. When he came to Prasanthi Nilayam he was suffering from rheumatoid arthritis of a multiple nature for the last 30 years, he had a high fever and one of his kidneys was not functioning. Bhagavan ordered me to examine him and administer a few injections; but, though emaciated and confined to bed he would have nothing of me! He refused to have anything to do with any one of my profession; he said he had enough of them, allopathic, ayurvedic, homeopathic and the rest. He wanted only Bhagawan to treat him! Bhagavan graciously complied. He created, by a wave of His Hand, a small bottle of liquid, and giving it to him, I asked that a few drops be taken in by him, mixed with water, twice a day. In ten days, he walked by himself on to the verandah of the Nilayam; within a month, he came into the Prayer Hall and fifteen days later, he was normal again! The hospital records show that an old man came from Nellore afflicted by chronic diabetes (4 per cent sugar in urine) and sinuses in the arms. I planned to give him a course of insulin, but, Bhagavan came to the hospital and created Vibhuthi for him to swallow. The next day, I discovered to my surprise that there was no trace of sugar in his urine. The sinuses healed in less than three weeks; no more treatment was needed for diabetes. In three weeks, he was discharged in normal health, fully cured. |
