May 1 and 2, 2010 – Beautiful Darshans and a Surprise Visit to Samadhi

There is nothing more comforting than a routine and that is exactly what Puttaparthi was back into after Swami returned from His divine trip to Delhi and Shimla. The months of April and May are the period for summer vacations, nevertheless there are quite a few boys who have chosen to spend their vacation in Prasanthi Nilayam.

As the number of boys is definitely less than usual, the boys who have stayed behind are assured of a close darshan. The Loving Mother that Swami is, He fills these boys with joy accepting their letters, interacting with them and so on. Everyday there are interesting episodes.

Mayday was another such beautiful day in the heart of summer. It was quite cool due to the cloud cover and the light shower! Swami came for darshan as the bhajans were on. The children from the Primary school are few in number but they still have all their allotted space in Mandir! As a result, they rush to the central path to have Swami's darshan and as soon as Swami passes by, they return to the front where they have a second opportunity for close darshan.

Swami took a complete round and arrived on the stage. As Swami sat listening to the bhajans, He threw a vibhuti packet for one of the students seated in the front. As he went and pocketed the packet, he told Swami something and Swami told him to sit. He saw the clock and indicated that at 6:00 p.m. the bhajans would end.

As the bhajans concluded and aarthi was being done, Swami materialized a gold chain for the boy who offered a rose to Him. The boy was simply thrilled. Swami then called another student and asked him, "When is the New Year?" The reply was, "Swami whenever You say it is!" Swami then asked him how the chain He had gifted him was. Saying that it was very good and taking padanamaskar, the student returned to his place. Swami sat and the whole hall was absolutely still and silent for a few minutes. Finally, blessing everyone, Swami retired.

The 2nd of May had a surprise Divine visit to the Parents' Samadhi. Swami arrived in the car just before 4:30 p.m. and drove out through the Sai Kulwant Hall. The car entered the Samadhi Road which had been barricaded by the sevadals and all the shops were closed. Hundreds of devotees thronged everywhere and every visible spot had been occupied. When Swami entered the Samadhi premises, ‘Jaijaikars’ rented the air.

There were people seated on ledges and in balconies of all the nearby buildings. Swami descended from the car and moved into the main Samadhi. Marble idols of the parents were to be installed and Swami oversaw their exact positions and placement. Seeing the photo of His Griham Ammayi - Mother Easwaramma, Swami asked, "Is there any other picture of her?"

He was told that it was the best picture they had obtained. Taking a round in the Samadhi, Swami moved out. He sat in the car and returned to the Mandir. On the way, there were surging crowds.

Returning to the Mandir, Swami arrived on the stage and sat for the bhajans. After a few bhajans, He received aarthi and retired for the day.
