The Walk for Values is no regular walkathon event. Apart from seeking to raise awareness about keeping alive human values in society, the participants of this Walk are encouraged to embrace a value and pledge to consciously make it a part of their lives from thence.

The Walk has its inception at the Sri Sathya Sai School at Toronto, Canada, but now it has grown leaps & bounds into an international event, the latest being the walk at Noida in India, the pictures of which you see here.

Organised by the Sathya Sai Organisation of Delhi-NCR on a bright Sunday morning at Noida, the event witnessed a huge participation. The two kilometre walk started from the TGIP mall in Noida at around 10 in the morning.

. The Footprint - represents your commitment to ‘Walk the Talk’.
. The Five Toes - represent the Values Truth, Peace, Love, Right Conduct & Non-Violence.
. Sole of the Foot - shaped as a heart, it symbolizes love, the undercurrent of all human values.
. The Heel - drawn as a tear-drop, symbolises the compassion that moves every human heart to reach out and serve.

This event was aimed at promoting individual responsibility towards self & society with the goal of realising world peace. The event was not a fund raiser and only called for participation.

This event garnered support and participation from large numbers of people from across the city. Over 3800 people came out on a Sunday morning to participate in this altruistic event. Groups from over 20 schools, 5 colleges and 10 corporates walked along pledging their support to the five human values.

The event was covered by the National Television, Doordarshan and was well attended too. The inauguration of the program saw a representative from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), bureaucrats and ambassadors take the stage. Two leading sports personalities, Joshua Ashley Geddes and Harry Donnelly, coaches of the Arsenal Football Club, UK participated in the entire walk.

Walk for Values - 2015

The day started with stretching exercises by a certified trainer. This was followed by the inauguration ceremony. Thereafter all attendees took pledge to make ‘Human Values’ a part of their daily lives. A procession of five beautiful floats followed, one representing each of the five values.
