Bhagawan instituted the first Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna in the year 1961, during the sacred Navaratri Celebrations. Ever since, year after year Prasanthi Nilayam has been thronged by eager devotees during the seven days it is held on. Every year Bhagawan invites and hosts Ritwiks, individuals dedicated to the study of the ancient Vedas to conduct this Yajna, and also blesses His own students to join them in the incantations. Over half a century has passed, yet this fire-sacrifice is carried out just as it was done in 1961 - scrupulously following ancient vedic traditions. The grand worship concludes on the holy Vijayadashami day with the Poornaahuti function.

As part of the Dasara celebrations Bhagawan also conducted and presided over the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha - an event in which scholars, elderly devotees and students of Bhagawan addressed the assembly of devotees.
