Sathya Sai School of Canada ranked among top six
schools in Toronto
The Sathya Sai School of Canada offers profound gratitude to the school’s Founder Chancellor Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for its continued growth and success. Through His Grace, the Sathya Sai School of Canada has been in the news since Sunday, February 3, 2014, for being among the top schools in Toronto and Ontario out of 3,030. Headlines from two major Toronto news stations, CTV News and CP24 declare:
The report ranked 3,030 schools and assigned a perfect score to a total of 16 Ontario schools, including six in the city of Toronto. The rankings are largely based on provincial test scores in reading, writing and math in Grades 3 and 6.
Students from the Sathya Sai School of Canada have been participating in the provincial tests for the past eight years. The tests are demanding and span three to five days. Each year our students have met and/or exceeded the provincial curriculum expectations, scoring a top 10 and this year gaining a rank of 1/3030.
In 2008, a reporter linked the school’s top scores to daily meditation, yoga and the focus on core values. A graph for scores in 2011 depicts the percentage of students at Sathya Sai School “At or Above the Provincial Standards”, (Sathya Sai School in dark blue, Province of Ontario in light blue).

The Fraser Report requires five consecutive years of test results before giving a rating amongst the top ranked schools. In 2011, Sathya Sai School of Canada had reached the required five years, and was then rated the No.1 school in all of Ontario, out of 2,733 schools. Our school was also the recipient of two top Ontario awards: Excellence in Language Arts and Excellence in Mathematics.

The Sathya Sai School of Canada attributes its students’ success to Bhagawan’s educational philosophy of Educare that aims at developing each child’s potential by drawing out the infinite intelligence and goodness latent in every individual through emphasis on the universal Human Values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence. The many miraculous “Growing Garlands” through the past fourteen years of the school’s history attest to His continuous presence, support and love for the school.

The school has also been blessed with very dedicated and creative teachers, who have diligently worked through the years to guide the students’ academic achievements and character development. The Grades 3 and 6 teachers make an exceptional effort each year to prepare the students for the government exams.
History was in the making in September 2000 when the Sathya Sai School of Canada was first inaugurated. The school was the labour of love of untold numbers of devotees, who gave of their time, skills, and support to make the school a reality, following upon Bhagawan’s blessing of the school when He said, “This is My school; Make it happen.” At the time it was the only Sathya Sai School in North America, and continues to be the only one in the United States and Canada.
Now, with His continued Grace, history is in the making again with the construction of the permanent Sathya Sai School of Canada. The school is scheduled to open in September 2014, growing from an Elementary School to a Junior School, with classes from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. The building will be comprised of state-of-the-art classrooms, including specialised science and arts facilities. The school’s vision is to be a model school for values education in Canada and nurture Human Excellence in its students. The new premises will also enable the Canadian Institute of Sathya Sai Education to train mainstream teachers from across the country in the philosophy and methodology of Educare.

This is an enormous project at a cost of millions of dollars and once again will come into existence by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Divine Grace, and through the united love of devotees and concerned citizens who look to values education as a means of transforming humanity and bringing peace on Earth.
