Holding on to Him
Manibhushanrao Sahini (India)
I am working as a teacher in a high school. I am the only teacher working in the school because the Head Master of the school got promotion and transferred in June 2000.
As I told you that is a High School with nearly 250 students from class 6th to 10th. Luckily there were two voluntary teachers,'purely voluntary' because the School Committee or the government PAID nothing to them. However in September 2000 one Head Master came to our school on promotion. And my problem started from then. Actually I did not feel any problem before that.
I am teaching 6th to 10th classes with the help of the two volunteer teachers. One of them teach Telugu and social studies to 8, 9 and 10th classes. The other volunteer teach Science and Mathematics to 8,9, and 10th classes. I am teaching Social studies, Hindi, English and Biological sciences to all classes. Really it was a tough period to me.
The higher class students want to leave the school and requesting me to issue their
Transfer Certificates. If I allow any one of them to leave the school that will be a disaster
to the school. I consoled them stopped them from leaving the school. At last the new H.M came to school in September. The students feared to approach for any of their problems due to his attitude. The students and their parents came to me for any problem and suggestions. The new HM did not like this. The volunteer teachers left the school due to his attitude. He discouraged and insulted me. This hurt my ego. So I kept quiet and maintained distance from him.
One day I came to a conclusion and want to fight (argue) with him. I made my mind to oppose his misbehaviour. Yes, now SWAMI came to my rescue. That day I am waiting for my bus to school. The road is very dirty because of the rain that night. The bus came and I am rushing towards it, suddenly some thing on road attracted me. That is a small piece of news paper. There is a photo of BABA on it. It is on the road in mud. I stopped to climb the bus and picked it from the dirt. Something is printed below the photo. I cleaned the paper piece and read the message. Yes... that is a 'message' from Swami. "Do not get angry, be patient". The message means something like that. I was shocked to see it. Swami saved me with that message. I decided not to quarrel with my head master. So I adjusted with him. However I got promotion as a B.Ed. teacher and transferred to some other place within a month. Thus Baba saved me from a worst situation.
"Thank you Swamy for every thing You have given to me" is a part of my prayer every day.
Where we are worried and anxious at every step WE HOLD ON TO HIM and we feel strengthened, His energy lifts us up.
