Moving on, what were the impressions of the delegates who attended this conference? They were either IT professionals dealing with healthcare or doctors and physicians who have turned into IT professionals. A few of them shared their views with Radio Sai after the conference.

One of them was Dr. Chandil Kumar Gunashekara, the VP of the Asia-Pacific India chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Support Systems (HIMSS) and also the young CEO of eHealth Enablers Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. What he shared was a clear indicator of the impact the conference had on the participants.

The conference certainly gave all the participants some food for thought – how to keep the patient welfare as priority number one even while trying to keep pace with latest technological advancements. In fact, this is precisely what prompted the alumni of Baba's university now working in this hospital to organise this event. After the conference, some of these alumni shared with Radio Sai the inside story of how this conference was conceptualised. Here is what Mr. Subramaniam said about keeping patients as top priority.

Mr. Subramaniam then went on to share about how this conference was planned and how it fructified.

For Mr. Jai Ganesh, another alumnus, this conference was indeed a long-cherished wish and dream ultimately finding fulfilment.

So far, the alumni working in Baba's hospitals have been part of conferences organised at other places, but November 17, 2012 was an occasion when they spoke and the world of healthcare not only listened but also heartily acknowledged their good work. It was no surprise that for the alumni working in Swami's hospitals, the day was indeed memorable. In fact, Mr. Subramaniam later drew a beautiful parallel to describe how it felt after the conference and the final Aarthi was offered to Bhagawan.

Bhagawan Baba has always stressed on the proper use of knowledge and technology for the benefit of society. He conveys a strong and pertinent message through a beautiful wordplay on ‘technology’: “You should go to society with your knowledge – ‘Take knowledge’, this is ‘technology’. Otherwise, it is ‘tricknology’ and it can never be ‘technology’.

One should not use technology as 'Tricknology' to trick people, instead harness it to reduce distress and pain, Baba has often said. Taking a cue from this, the administration team of Baba's hospitals have always ensured that implementation of the state-of-the-art equipment and technology has been geared consistently towards one goal – ‘Patient first’. The IT conference on November 17, 2012 held at the Whitefield Hospital was a testimony to this fact. One hopes this message reaches out to every healthcare institution in the world.
