Sathya Dharma Shanthi Prema Sathya Saideva Tere Charanome Hum...Sai Deenabandhu Karunasindhu Eswaramba Nandana Sathyaswarupa Sai Bhagawan Dharmaswarupa Sai Bhagawan Sakthiswarupa Sai Bhagawan Premaswarupa Sai Bhagawan Sairam Saishyam Mere Bhagawan |
The journey had begun one night when my mother said that she had read about the bhajan competition that Radio Sai had announced. I am very interested in music and when my mother told me this, as a 14 year old I was very excited. I did not know what to do or where to begin from. I began this journey, by praying to Swami to guide me. As this competition is held on the avatar declaration day I decided that the lyrics must be about Swami. I took my mother’s phone and recorded the complete tune one line after the other. After doing so I asked my mother for her feedback. She said it was good and I was confident. The way the lyrics came out was stunning. It was almost 7 days since I composed the tune and still I did not have lyrics for any line. I was very disappointed. |

During the time of Navrathri in Oct 2012, while returning from work, the bhajan "Kripakari Karunakari" came to me as if somebody was whispering the tune with the lyrics to me. This bhajan made me feel that Mother Sai is full of compassion. |

The tune for this bhajan came to my mind long ago. I couldn't actually decide the theme for its lyrics. Then one fine day, Radio Sai announced the competition. Since, it is for Swami's Avatar declaration day, my friends and me thought of writing the lyrics on the theme of "Kaliyuga Avatara." Then we composed the bhajan with Swami's grace.

Parthi Baba, Tumhe Pranam Prashanti Nilaya Tera Dhaam Parthi Baba, Tumhe Pranam Shiva Shakti Ka Tum Avatar Jagat Guru Sathya Sai Ram Sai Ram Sai Ram, Bolo Sathya Sai Ram |
The inspiration I've got from the Raag Rageshri. When I did read the sentence: “I am Sai... My devotees are calling Me... I have My work” in the article; Bhajan Competition, send us your bhajan, this lyrics came to my mind.
I find the Raag Rageshri very attractive, and that's why I chose this. |

Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai
Prashanti Nilaya Sai Bhagavan Kali Yuga Avatar Sai Rama Bhagavan.... Eashwaramba Nandana Sai Bhagavan Tu Mere Baba Pyare Sai Baba Jaya Ho Jaya Ho Sathya Sai Baba Kali Yuga Avatar Sai Baba Prashanti Nilayam Sai Bhagavan |
I was inspired to write this bhajan when I attended the Sainaam in Baltimore, Maryland. Sai devotees were singing an Eashwaramba bhajan and they had a picture with Sathya Sai Baba and Eashwaramba together. They say that a picture could paint a thousand words, and so a bhajan came into my mind and I quickly wrote it down on a sheet of paper. As I had the words down, I made the tune so that the words can flow with the tune.

Gajavadana Karuna Karana
Gajavadana Sankata Harana Siddhipradayaka Gajavadana Parthi Vihari Gajavadana Gajavadana Sai Gajavadana |
Few weeks back when the contest was announced I hardly had any idea of posting an entry. I wrote this song, or to put it correctly Swami wrote this song just last Thursday. Ganesha is my favorite deity since childhood. That day I browsed Music India Online for some song and ended up listening to a Krithi on Swami composed by Mrs Kalyani Sundarajan, after which I listened only to Ganesh krithis on the auto play radio! In the evening I just wondered at the fact, on how people compose songs! And when I opened the Radio Sai website, I stumbled upon the reminder for bhajan contest and there came a thought in me to try to compose! And in the next 10-15 mins I complete recording the song! It is for sure Swami, who materialized that thought into this bhajan!

Sayishwara Shiva
Parthishwara Parameshwara Sayishwara Shiva Parameshwara Bhuvaneshwara Sayishwara Shiva Bhuvaneshwara Gangadhara Sayishwara Shiva Shiva Shiva Shiva Shiva Sai Shiva (4) |
We are sending the audio file on behalf of our 12 year old son. He sang the lines and tuned it himself. With Swami’s grace he has been singing bhajans and playing harmonium at our Sai Center (Cincinnati-Dayton Sai Center, Ohio in Region 5). Last year when our center hosted the Easwaramma Day Retreat (A Regional retreat of Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) children in Region 5 USA) the book we chose to follow was Swami’s discourses on mind and thoughts titled ‘Master the mind and be a master mind’. Seeing a few copies of the book lying around, he started to hum a tune that goes like Parameshwara Shiva, Parthiswara Shiva, Sayeeshwara Shiva ….and used to end it with ‘Master the mind and be a master mind…’. He later on removed the English lines as he thought it may not fit well. Now with this opportunity he wants to humbly offer this at Swami’s lotus feet.

Firstly I would like to thank the Radio Sai team for giving us this opportunity to compose bhajans for our beloved Bhagavan. Indeed He is the source of inspiration behind every endeavor. I have learnt Carnatic Sangeetham during my schooling years. But only after my marriage I came to Swami through my husband and it was only then that I started singing bhajans. I now attend bhajans regularly and am so grateful to Swami for instilling the love for music within me.
There are certain raagas that inspire me deeply, Vaasanthi is one of them. I love Krishna bhajans too and was tempted to compose this bhajan in that raaga. |

It's difficult to say what has inspired this bhajan, I don't really have an interesting story to tell, except to say that as a Bal Vikas student, bhajans have always been an important part of my life.

This bhajan came to me in February 2013 when we were finishing up a Shivarthri Bhajan practice. We were singing bhajans and I was in an inspired state and as I was driving home in the car, this bhajan came with the tune and some of the sentences. This was the first bhajan that ever came to me like that and since then, Swami has been blessing me in a similar manner since then with more such bhajans.

I hereby send my mother Smt. Mahalakshmi Sarveswara Rao Nidadavolu's composition of a bhajan. This bhajan was written when my mother was suffering with cancer. She was immensely praying Swamy to get out of this problem. She got operated in June 1999 she was undergoing chemotheraphy where usually it will have side effects like hair fall and other problems but for her not even a single hair has fallen and no side effects in that period on 22nd June 1999.
She has written and composed two bhajans. Swamy miraculously saved her from this cancer where the doctors are so confident that it may reoccur. But only because of Swamy's grace she is now 75 years old with good health and the problem never reoccured. |

I am 10 years old. I live in Bangalore. I am a Balvikas Group II student.
As a Balvikas student, I learnt many bhajans from my gurus. By Swami's grace, I had been fortunate to learn many bhajans from very senior gurus who are excellent bhajan trainers. I sing bhajans regularly in Balvikas class and also in Sai Geetanjali, a Sai Samithi in South Bangalore. Attached is my very first bhajan composition. One morning, as I was taking bath, the lyrics of this bhajan just came to my mind. Swami has been my foremost inspiration as He was the one who put the lyrics & tune in my mind! Thank you, Swami! |

Adidevaya Mahadevaya Sai Devaya Namah Shivaya Prema Rupaya Gunaatitaya Sai Devaya Namah Shivaya Vishvarupaya Vishvapalaya Sai Devaya Namah Shivaya Bhaktapriyaya Hridaya Vasaya Sai Devaya Namah Shivaya |
About the process:
All of us felt that we wanted to write and compose a new song, when we saw the announcement for this bhajan contest. We wrote several ideas, and finally selected one to record in the last three weeks. About this bhajan specifically: One of the youth, a couple of days after reading the announcement, came up with the words 'Adidevaya Sai Devaya'. The feeling that our own Sai Deva is Adideva - the first, primeval Lord, prompted us to express the things Swami is to us. He is not only Adideva, He is Mahadeva. He is the form of Love, above all qualities, He takes care of Creation, He is creation! He is the beloved Lord of His devotees, residing in all our hearts. The melody is set to Raga Bibhas, in the Marwa That. A strong scale, having a heavy character in the lower notes, especially the rishab, it can reflect lightness and joy around the pancham as well. The words and melody try to reflect the meaning of the bhajan and the yearning for experiencing our Lord. |

Mother Sai, You are my World, and You lead me to You
Sathya, you are my soul, Sai, you are my goal, Baba, you are my guide, When I'm all alone. Without you, I'm vacant, Without you, I'm lifeless, But with you, I'm shining, With endless rays of Love. Sai, we love you, from the bottom of our hearts. (x5) |
The inspiration for this song was simply the fact that without Baba's grace and all the wonderful things that He has done for us in our lives, we could not survive. This song is merely a small offering at His lotus feet to show a little gratitude to Baba.

This is a bhajan composed by my father Sri V. S. Bhat some years before. He is a retired Hindi teacher and now also continues teaching kids Sanskrit and Hindi. He has composed some bhajans mostly in Konkani, our mother tongue but this one is in Sanskrit. He originally wrote it for Ganesha and wanted to create this bhajan in this tala in hamsadhwani raga but later he changed the lyrics for his Venkatapathy. I am not a learned singer but I have tried to sing this. Please excuse me for any mistake I have made. |

About 25 years back Baba gave the words to me in my meditation. After few years I learnt little bit of classical music. Baba's inspiration led me to tune it in Raag Bageshwari. Then in 1995, in Whitefield Baba accepted the letter with that bhajan written out in notations. That was the only letter He ever took from me. I never had the need to give any letter after that. I just write to HIM in my heart. 'Bhajan Bliss' all of a sudden has brought that love, that spark back and I would like to offer it at Baba's Param Pujya Paadam. |

I am taking this blessed opportunity and sharing with the team a lovely bhajan which was composed by my grandfather late Sri Rathin Sen. I know this competition is asking for our own composed bhajans, but I want to share this bhajan sung by me which was composed by my grandfather. He was an ardent devotee of Bhagawan and he composed many bhajans for Swami.
He merged with Swami singing bhajans on the same date 24th April when I was in class 3 during the year 1999. As a tribute to my grandfather whose life was totally for Swami I am sending this beautiful composition which was composed by him. If this bhajan is selected and is offered at Bhagawan's divya maha sannidhi nothing more a grand blessed news for our family and my grandfather's soul would be very happy that his bhajan, his beautiful soulful composition being offered at Bhagawan's maha sannidhi. |

This is composed by Balvikas student Basanta Pandey sang by Basanta Pandey & Narayan Bastakoti followed by other Balvikas students dedicated to our beloved Bhagawan
It was inspired by Balvikas students of Prasanthi Nilayam through one video. It gave rise to the feeling that Swami has given equal love to all. If others could compose then why we are back. We can also do so....and hence we tried and rest is in our Swami's head. |

The year was 2008. Winter in Canada had arrived a little early with a couple of severe snow storms. The temperature was sub-zero in early December. The Financial Markets in Canada, as in the rest of the world, were going through a turbulent time. One could say it was a financial winter as well, for the capitalist economies of the west. Being employed in one of the large financial institutions, in the liquidity management area, the pressures of forecasting the health of the institution was taking a heavy personal toll, with each work day stretching late into the night. On one such bleakest of days, the end of day report seemed to contain some very bad news. Tired, I could not help but wonder if it was worth spending one’s life studying the devastating effects of the rampant greed that seemed to have taken the world’s economies to the brink of annihilation. |

First of all, I would like to thank the Radio Sai team for giving me this chance to share the melody to the place of the Lord Himself. All this process from composing the song till the opportunity to share the song now is indeed a blessing to me from Swami. I believe through this event, there is a great opportunity created for the children of Sai to share not just their songs but also their experience, miracles and love to the world and to the embodiment of love Himself.
I didn't even thought of composing a song as I'm just a normal bhajan singer who sings bhajans just to make others happy and eventually me too. But so happened, one day where my mother dreamt of Swami. He came and gave her a piece of paper and in that paper was written a line, “Dhim Dhim Dhimi Dhimi Shambho Shiva Shmabho Shankara”. He gave her the piece and said “continue this bhajan”. As soon as that, she woke up, took a paper and wrote the first line so that she doesn't forget it. That night she shares the dream with my family. She showed us the line then asked me to help complete the song. I told her composing a song is not a simple task, you have to have knowledge in music and you should know what you are doing. You can never blindly compose a song. But after some time, I told her that if He was the one gave the line, and then I'm sure He will complete the song. After all we are His instruments. I kept the piece of paper in my wallet having the faith that one day; somehow, the song will be completed. I continued my life as per normal. I guess I even forgot about the song because it was like one year after I reopen the piece of paper. So, after almost one year, one day, I was doing my evening prayers. That day I had a lot of doubts and questions about life with Swami. I wanted Him to answer me badly. After some time I was just staring at His picture and then suddenly I thought of the song which my mother gave. I took out the piece of paper from my wallet saw the line. Miraculously, after I saw the line, I could imagine the tune of the line in my mind. I quickly took the harmonium and played according to the tune and the pitch that was going through in my mind. Then I wondered usually for what I have listened before the bhajans where we have “Dhim Dhim Dhimi Dhimi”, it was always sung in a powerful and high tempo way. As the meaning of it means it’s the tune of Lord Shiva doing His famous tandavam. But as I was imagining Swami in the form of Lord Shiva, at that point, I was picturing Swami walking slowly giving His lovely darshan. That movement of Him, was like tandavam for me. That’s when I realized why was the tune of the first line of the song that I imagine was sung in at slow tempo. Soon after that, the line just came into my thoughts easily. That’s when I thought of praising the Lord’s beautiful dance where the second line was form as “Tandava Priyakara Chandrakaladhara Kailashvasa Om Namah Shivaya”. Where Tandava Priyakara means the one who is talented in the art of dance and Chandrakaladhara means the one who is beautified or the one who has the moon on His head. Kailashwasa means the Lord who recites at Mount Kailash. Thus, the meaning of the second line forms as Bow to you Lord Shiva, the ever beautiful Lord with the moon on the head who dances beautifully at the Mount Kailash. Now after praising the Lord, I wished to address my feeling of misery to Him and seek for His guidance on it that’s where the third line started with the word Halahaladhara which means the Lord who swallowed the deadly poison to save His devotees. Thus, the meaning of the third line forms as I bow to you Oh the ever beautiful Lord of Kailash, who smeared with ashes on His body, please take our sins away and guide us on our divine journey. Finally, after praising the Lord and addressing Him to guide us, the fourth line basically asks the devotees to finally chant His name, Hara Hara Hara Hara, Shiva Shiva Shiva Shiva, who recites in each and every ones heart (Hrudaya Nivasa). We bow to you, oh Lord Shiva (Om Namah Shivaya). I'm not sure with the raga of the song, however I guess it's in Raag Puriya Dhanashree. |
