The main inspiration for writing this bhajan is my daughter Ratna who is 8 years old.

For all that Swami is doing and enlightening us and also HIS love of infinite mothers inspired me to compose this Bhajan to offer as a flower at HIS lotus feet and show our gratitude with “Sashtanga Pranamam.”
Invoking HIS blessings in the form of SAI MAA to guide and protect all of us.

Saluting Swami for spreading his divine rays around the universe. While dropping to school this morning, she innocently told me that she wanted to compose a song on Lord Rama. I was surprised and very happy on hearing this from her. The yearning in her motivated me to compose this bhajan for my Guru and God, Sri Sathya Sai Baba in my most loved raga Des. I could feel Swami guiding me line by line when I started writing this and took me only 3 minutes to compose this. I am not an accomplished musician but a lover of music and have learnt basics of Hindustani Music. I have tried to render to this to the best of my ability. I came to know about the Bhajan submission in Radio Sai only after I composed this.

I composed this song almost 7 years ago and I have a desire to sing this song in front of SWAMI.

I think he showed the route through Radio Sai to reach the final divine destination.

My inspiration for this song is Divine darshan. I always get dreams of Swami that He always gives darshan in every form and satisfies His devotees by His blessings. As Swami always says He is Omnipresent. My song is a bit lengthy but every word is for our SWAMI.

This particular Bhajan lyrics automatically flashed in my heart in the year 1992, while I was in great desperation regarding my job, that is either to continue in the present job or go to abroad. After finding the tune, practiced several times and started singing this Sai Bhajan in the Sai centre and felt very much blessed by Swami.

It is really needless to say and to mention that my grandpa - the writer n composer of this bhajan - drew inspiration from 'Bangaru Swamy'. Here I wish to narrate a small incident which propelled my grandpa in composing this bhajan.

It is in the early 90's after his retirement, he spent a lot of time in meditation and gardening. On one such beautiful evening, where he went onto the first floor (which is around 20-25 feet high) to pluck jasmine flowers chanting the name of Swamy in his heart. All of a sudden, without his knowledge/conscious, he slipped from first floor and fell directly on the cement blocks placed on the main road which is quite adjacent to his house. Even for a youngster / middle aged person it is really difficult to survive such fall without any injuries/ fracture. To our utter surprise, my grandpa escaped.. Here as a close onlooker, I personally feel to use the word that he was MIRACULOUSLY SAVED by Bangaru Tandri (i.e, Swamy) as he didn’t suffer any blows / injuries.

Later over the night, while he was pondering and repeatedly recollecting this incident, all of a sudden my grandpa felt Swamy narrating something to him in Telugu through celestial plane and he immediately started to chalk it down on a piece of paper. After he gained conscious, he realized what Swamy dictated him is a wonderful lyric of a Telugu bhajan. Later, for which my grandpa composed a tune for it.

Balaji Venkatesham Bhajore (4 times)

It was about a week before Vaikuntha Ekadasi of 2013. I had an intense desire to compose a bhajan on Sai Narayana. I tried hard to do something but nothing came out, which was frustrating. I started for office in the morning and was passing by a Shiridi Sai temple close to my house. As I passed by the temple I made a sincere prayer with a tear to Swami expressing my feeling. I did not try again to continue the composition.

After this, on the second day early in the morning, it must have been around 4:30AM. I was asleep and had a dream of a male voice singing the "Mohana" raga and the sound was coming from the same Shiridi Sai temple. I must have then woken up a bit from sleep and I unconciously started paying attention. I heard the first 2 lines of this Bhajan being sung by the same voice... "Balaji Venkatesham Bhajore".

And then I started waking up a bit more from sleep. The music faded off but heard a clear voice saying, "This is Mohana raga your favourite one on Venkatesha... go ahead... think... think... think."

I shot up from sleep and could remember all that I heard almost effortlessly. I then closed my eyes and started thinking about Lord Narayana and several of his aspects and attributes came to my mind clearly and I could complete the remaining lyrics and the tune of the Bhajan within about an hour with surprising ease.

As I was very fond of singing Bhajans in a small way at the samiti Bhajans held at various places in Meerut I felt the urge to compose the lyrics of a Bhajan for Baba's Birthday and also give it a tune of my own. I composed the following Bhajan which the local devotees permitted me to sing and it was liked by all as an appropriate offering on Swami's Birthday and I sang it year after year at Meerut on the auspicious day of 23rd November.

My parents came to drop me in my new home, in Nagpur, after my marriage. We wanted to have bhajans in our home. It was the first bhajan. My mother was praying Swamy to take care of me. Only we two were singing. No one was there. Then suddenly my mother saw Swamy's physical form (in White robe) with both hands blessing. She was overwhelmed with joy and then came these words and tune for Swamy, from her heart.

I had the habit of invoking ‘Sai ‘ by chanting ‘Sai Ram‘ the moment I wake up in the morning.

One day when I did like that my inner voice told me ”Sai, the creator of the whole cosmos resides in all forms. But first thing in the morning if you invoke ‘Sai Ganesha’ then He will remove all the obstacles in your daily life. So why don’t you invoke ‘Sai Ganesha’ the first thing in the morning? And He gave me this Bhajan the same moment.

I am not a good composer, not a good singer. At the age of 78+ I have tried to record the Bhajan so that it is submitted at the Divine Lotus Feet on the Avatar Day.

I just finished composing but the thought/source is from the 90’s as I was waiting in the Sai Kulwanth hall for Darshan. I said to Swami, ‘What if we go to Mookambika! (a powerful Devi mandir in the South). The miracle was that when I reached the dorm at Building N 8 in the evening, I heard a lady’s voice ‘I wish if someone was going to Mookambika temple.’ Thus I went to the mandir which is located in Kollur, far away from Puttaparthy with a lady from Malaysia whom I was meeting for the first time. We left all our belongings under the beds and started going. After coming back to Prashanthi Nilayam, I received my first real Darshan from Swami with a Narayana Swami Song. I used to recite the Mookambika Devi stothram from the age of five, yet the first time visit was from Puttaparthy many many years later. Such a fabulous singers all of you are, so surprise me with any tune.

I am 67 years old... I got to know swami through my daughter 4 years back. He came to my house in the form of a photo that my son-in-law brought and asked to do arathi when praying. I didn't like the photo or swami (not knowing him then). Did the arathi mechanically for a week, after which I had a dream of swami asking me to read about him. I didn't bother about this; however the next day after the dream we were invited to friends house bhajan (being new to Sai, I have no idea what they do there). As the prayer ended I was asked to take arathi... tears poured out my eyes. Swami has provided numerous books in Tamil about him through friends and family (I only know to read and write in tamil) for me to know about him. Within a short period of time my love for swami developed. There is not a moment goes by that I never think of him or have conversations with him. One day as I was sitting at my home staring into swami's photo this song came to my thoughts and I noted it down in 2 minutes. He has transformed everyone and everything since his arrival into our home, our life --- he has changed me - removing all my "assai" (wants and wishes of material things). Now all I want and need is Him; him alone. Many such songs been inspired this way since then by swami. When he left his mortal coil, my family was at our Sai centre organizing a leadership program. We had planned to come to Puttaparthi for swami darshans and were waiting for him to get better, but his plans and will was different... he only gave darshan in our dreams. This was one of the inspiration for another song titled "Orutharam yenum tharisanam taruvai" (meaning, please grant me at least one darshan, I plead to you my sai) it is so touching that tears come to my eyes every time I sing it. Till todate we have yet to set foot at Prashanti, he has transformed our hearts to be Prashanti. His Will, will be done, His Love will be lived!

I am indeed blessed to be His very little and humble simple instrument and I am extremely grateful to Bhagavan for having used me as His microphone to amplify His Lyrics and His Divine Composition.

Bhagavan is the Lyricist and the composer and He has inspired me from within and the entire Bhajan flowed out completely. Thank you once again for this noble opportunity.

We are blessed to be able to enter our bhajan into the Radio Sai Contest. We were inspired to write this bhajan by our SSE teachers. Our Atlanta Sai Center asked students to submit entries for a newsletter and this is what we came up with. This bhajan is perfect for the ups and downs we face at home, at school, work, and in life in general. We always have to remember God's name in every situation. This goes for SSE students as well as for adults! A reminder for everyone is always nice.

We have grown up listening to bhajans and it was so much fun to write our own. Thank you for listening to it!

I am sending you this bhajan in memory of my father Mr. Ramesh Modi who
was an ardent devotee of Shri Sathya Sai Baba.

This summer, on July 28th,
2014 my father passed away at the age of 78 in Syracuse, NY. His entire
life was about his journey with Baba. In his younger years, he set up the
Sathya Sai Center in Syracuse, organised many retreats and actively spread
Swami¹s teachings wherever he went. Professionally he was an engineer,
actively running his own business but his thoughts were always on Swami.
Even though he did not have any support in a foreign country, he taught us
that Baba is always there with you, no matter what life's circumstances
bring you. Faith, patience and love is all you need and this carried him
through his entire life.

He was surrounded by family, friends and Sai devotees till his last breath
and we felt Swami¹s presence with him and around him all the time. Our
father's favorite activity was to go to the Sai Center whether he was in
Pune, Syracuse or Chicago. He participated by singing bhajans, discussing
study circles and doing seva with love and enthusiasm. No matter what was
happening, he would never miss a Sunday to go to the Sai Center. He loved
to sing bhajans and would always carry his small bhajan book in his
pocket, so he could sing if anyone asked him.

He composed many bhajans for our beloved Swami over the years and I am
attaching one of his old favourite bhajans that he loved to sing. Thank
you for giving us all a chance to be a part of this CD that will be
offered to Swami

She is the primordial energy from which Srishti (Brahma), Sthithi (Vishnu) and Laya (Maheswara) are expressed. The primordial energy Sri Laitha is worshipped as Mother Kathyayani who resides in and presides over the kadamba vana. Our beloved Divine Mother Sai is Siva Sakthi Swarupa, the very avatar, the Jagatjanani. At the lotus feet of the primordial mother Sai Lalitha, we offer this humble recital.

Sri.Muthaiah Sairam used to sing these bhajans in our samithi as well as many other bhajans which really connects many of us with our Mother Sai. One day he narrated to us how he got such a great devotion and love for composing bhajans. He used to pray to Swami for composing bhajans. One day Swami came in his dream asked him to wake up and write the lyrics on his diary. From that day onwards he started composing for our Lord. When Swami used to come to Kodaikanal, he blesses us with HIS Divine Darshan in Dindigul (1992-1998). On those auspicious occasions these bhajans were offered by Sri. Muthaiah Sairam in His Divine Presence.
